As Long As It Takes (Taking Flight)

I don’t need a song to tell.
I don’t need a clock’s ring.
I don’t need a story to unfold.
What I need is your hand to hold.
If I could no longer hear,
if the hour glass ran
its last cycle out, and if
the pieces of every scene disappeared,
I would still remember
the feeling of a first kiss.

As long as it has taken
to find one moment;
as much distance
that has filled my heart,
I find stars
which surface on my veins,
when your touch brings the skies
down upon my skin.
