be. free. every. time.

Madelyn “Maddie” Theresa Adame at the age of one.

(for my niece)

be emptied and free
like every time
a mommy and a daddy
choose to give life to a beautiful baby

be emptied and free
like every time
a child
gets back up from falling repeatedly

be emptied and free
like every time
a teenager
inches near depression but picks happy

be emptied and free
like every time
a musician
with few fans finds a stage to sing

be emptied and free
like every time
a dancer
feels rhythm on any floor unconditionally

be emptied and free
like every time
a poet
sits down to write for injustice devotedly

be emptied and free
like every time
a painter
brushes colors for a new world she will see

be emptied and free
like every time
you give every thing inside
for what you allow yourself to be
